In the outer suburb of melbourne, Croydon, lies the Eastfield Trotting practice track. This horse was 'doing the rounds' just yesterday. |
Coming in to land at Tullamarine airport here in Melbourne,yesterday. The main airport of Melbourne is Tullamarine, approx 30 minutes out of the centre of town. There is also Avalon airport which is approx 45 minutes out of town. |

Between Spotswood and Yarraville is the stony creek backwash, partially under the Westgate bridge. I found this wreck there a few days ago whilst on a stroll. |
Submitted for the JPG mag 'Dreamscapes" theme. This is actually a mural on my son's bedroom wall, based on the pictures in the childrens book "Where the wild things are" by Maurice Sendak. The movie was made in Melbourne last year, and is due to be released in October 2008! From what I saw, it will be hugely successful. It is being directed by Spike Jonez. 2007 in Australia is the year of the lifesaver. These happy chaps can be found only a couple of minutes away from yesterdays post, in Geelong. In fact they are one set of many found all around the small city. Lifesavers do a great job around Australia, and if you ever visit, ensure you say G'day and swim between the flags! |
The people at John Deere were kind enough to let me in and take some shots of their bulldozers last Friday. This one was perhaps the largest on display. Full details on their range ( including bikes!) can be found here. This distribution centre is located in Brooklyn, West of Melbourne. |
